For Mum

Mum. You are and will always be my best friend.
My heart is broken into a million pieces.
I can’t tell you how much this hurts because there are no words or numbers that exist.

I miss you so much and my life will no longer be full without you in it.
I know you’re worried about me because I am the only one who isn’t married but I know you will still be looking down on me & looking out for me - don’t forget I’ve still got dad to call upon.

I will miss our late night chats over the phone - sometimes they would last over an hour long.
I will miss our trips into Slough, Or just coming over to yours for company.
I will miss sharing a room with you on our trips away because we were both the night owls of us girls.
I will miss your face and your voice.
I will miss you just being you.
Most of all I will miss the love I felt when I was with you or even when I wasn’t.

My only comfort is knowing you are in heaven with nanny and grandad and auntie Bella.
(I hope she didn’t squeeze you too hard when she gave you one of her infamous bear hugs) and that you are now free from pain and torment.

When I closed my eyes on the night of your passing, I had an image of you on a waltza at a funfair laughing your head off trying to pull yourself up from the force of gravity!

This is how I want to remember your face- laughing and being happy.
